I have 20 years of experience in media production and have worked in various roles, primarily as a creative producer/director, but also as an editor, motion graphics designer and cameraman.
In that time I have made films for the Arts, Business, Pharmaceutical, Property and Education Sectors and clients have included Levis, Unilever, British Council, MMU, Bruntwood, Wild In Art and Manchester Airport.
This extensive experience uniquely positions me to help and give insight at any stage of production, from concept to completion.

In the planning stage, the key aspect that often needs attention is the format, messaging and story. I will assist you in refining the message you want to convey and guide you into crafting and delivering your story effectively, authentically and with style.
I can also help if necessary with everything from finding crew members and cast, organising locations and logistics and managing timelines and budgets.

For the actual production, my focus is not just on the style but the substance. I’ll help you get the most honest and authentic tone from your contributors and content.
I'm a big believer in keeping things real, which means (if possible) real people, real commentary and a real narrative. If a film is authentic it'll engage with your audience, make a connection and ultimately get your message heard.
In terms of the edit, aside from the necessary technical, aesthetic and software skills, for me it's about brevity and clarity. Finding the most efficient and memorable way of delivering your message.
With my original background in design, I’m also well placed to maintain your branding and graphics and bring them to life with animation.
I'm a natural problem solver and working as an editor for many years has helped me distill content and simplify messages with confidence until they are comprehensive and memorable for the audience.
I am currently based in Manchester, and after covid came calling I moved out of our studio in town and converted my garage into a home office with super-fast broadband and a big retro leather chair.
When I'm not working I'm busy being a dad, spending time with my family and watching films as often as I can.
